Scouts
Explorers are for young people aged 14 to 18 years and with 6 Scouts ready to move up, we are hoping to start an Explorers unit in Ballachulish in August 2016.Explorers is a progression from Scouts, with more emphasis on real life skills, sharing a lot in common with the Duke of Edinburgh Program. Explorers are much more in control of the program and the badgework they undertake, being laregly responsible for chosing the basges and activities, and planning the program, with the leaders there to assist with any problems that may arise. Explorers units are officially part of the District, but in a remote rural area like Lochaber it is easier to run as part of the Scout Group.
